Change for Change

Change for Tatiana!! I'm hoping change will come sooner rather than later for this beautiful little girl. But to help her on her way I would like to ask that you save your change for the month of August. That is totally doable, don't ya think?? . You find change in cars, couches, on side walks, in the dryer, sometimes the washer or in my girls' case their dad's pockets. :) A little change can add up quickly, especially if several people are saving!! So here's what you do

1.) Set aside a mason jar, a old coffee container, or whatever you have that can hold change, then let me     know you want to help make a change with your change :) Just leave a comment here or on my facebook.

2.) When you find, see, come across change, stick it in the jar.

3.)  On Sept 1st. (Saturday) I'll give you a shout out and remind you to tally your coins and donate what you have collected to Tatiana's fund.

Pretty easy right?? This is a great way to make a change for a sweet little girl.

I know how easy it is to get got up in your own crazy life and forget to do for others but I think it's so important to set an example and let your actions speak to your friends, family and children. It's not hard to make a difference and it really truly is the small things that matter. I'm learning this and it's hard to accept. I want to make such a HUGE difference and do amazing and great things. I think about all the awesome stuff I could be doing for others but never seem to find the time to do it. I know I should do more, be more and give more. It all seems overwhelming but it is indeed the LITTLE things that add up. The LITTLE things and the SIMPLE things.  I think Mother Teresa said it best, she also maked this point several times over. It is an important lesson to learn, especially for me.

~Mother Teresa
“We cannot do great things on this Earth, only small things with great love.”

“If you can't feed a hundred people, then just feed one.”

“It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.”

“Do not think that love in order to be genuine has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired. Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”

“What we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But if that drop was not in the ocean, I think the ocean would be less because of that missing drop. I do not agree with the big way of doing things.”

You see?? It was VERY important to her. She was a simple woman with a beautiful heart and she "GOT IT"
She understood what it takes to be an amazing person, to do right by people and to make a difference. So we all know we can't compare to Mother Teresa :) But we can do something little to make a difference for one little precious girl in an orphanage.

Tatiana's Grant is Growing!!

Little by little she is getting more in both her funds, Reece's Rainbow and Project Hopeful's. Slowly we are getting there. I've slacked off lately...things got busy, I got distracted and I haven't been a very good advocate for this little girl who stole my heart. The good news.....I'm still here, I'm not giving up and I'll keep pushing for her. Right now her fund for Reece's Rainbow sits at $50.00. I'm hoping by the end of this month I can get it up to $100.00....baby steps. I know that every dollar given, every dollar raised will benefit her and get her home faster and that is my prayer......."Get her home". Right now her Reece's Rainbow grant sits at $50.00 and her Project Hopeful sits at $3,311.00. That's a AWESOME start and it's because amazing people have been stepping up to help and want her home as badly as I do. THANK YOU for that, deeply and sincerely.....THANK YOU!!  I have some plans in the making :) Hopefully I can start next week on bringing up those funds even more.

My Birthday Wish

It's my BIRTHDAY!!!! Well almost. :) I turn 30 April 14th.  Yup, 30 years old. I'm completely OK with it. I'm so happy to be 30, so blessed to be 30, wish I was 20 but thankful I'm 30!! I want to do something special for my 30th. Use this milestone in my life to help others, use it to bring attention and awareness to this special little girl.....Tatiana.

I just got an updated FIG amount for her!! I am so thrilled to let you all know you have helped Tatiana's fund get to $438.43. I know that may seem like such a small amount, just a drop in the bucket but it is HUGE!!!!  She is $438.43 closer to her family!! I seriously can not put into words how happy that small amount makes me. It shows me people care, people understand, they can help change her life! YOU are helping change her life!

I have made a goal for April, which also happens to be my birthday wish. I would like to push Tatiana's fund over $500.00 this month. We only need $63.00 to get there!! I know it is possible and I'm hoping that those of you that have been following Tatiana's story will go ahead and make me a happy woman and donate $5.00 for my birthday to Tatiana. Just 5 bucks.

I know how wasteful I am, I am ashamed even. I waste, blow, throw away $5.00 all the time.  I'm learning to give to to others though. The money will be spent anyway, and probably on something silly and meaningless, so I'm learning to give it away instead, it's tough at times, but I am ALWAYS thankful I did and I never even miss it. It's just 5 bucks after all. I sometimes feel silly donating such a small amount 5,10, or even 20. But then I think about the child, or the family that it is going to and it is NOT small to them, it is HUGE. They, we, I are thankful for every $1.00.

I know what an amazing group of people you all are. If you are reading this.... you care. You have a kind, compassionate, loving heart and you care! Thank you for that!! Seriously from the bottom of my heart thank you for caring about this sweet girl. Please Please also share this. It's free, it's simple, it takes a few seconds and it's a great way to help Tatiana. So if you are able to help me reach my Birthday goal for Tatiana I would be sooo very grateful!! There is a donate button on the the top right on this page. Just click it and follow the directions. :)

This May be Her Chance

Tatiana may be closer than I ever imagined to finding her way home!! There is an amazing woman trying  to bring Tatiana home. She wants so badly to be Tatiana's mother. We have shared several emails back and forth and she wants to push forward to do what it takes to adopt Tatiana!! This is extremely exciting for me and an extremely vital time for Tatiana. This may be her only chance out of the institution. Right now this sweet woman has a lot of obstacles to over come, but she is determined. Tatiana lives in a region in Eastern Europe where many trips are required to adopt, She is a school teacher with limited funds and is needing a more permanent full time position. Tatiana is SO VERY close to having the life she has been dreaming about, a mom, a house, her own things, a future, a chance! There are 3 things that you can do right now to help her get that chance.

1. Pray! Pray for Tatiana, pray that she has hope and continues to hold on to that hope until she is adopted. Pray that she has peace. Pray for the amazing woman trying to adopt her, pray that mountains are moved, doors are opened and she has the strength and endurance to fight for Tatiana.

2. Share. I need this post to reach as many people as possible. You never know who is willing and wanting to help in whatever way they can. Most people have the desire to help but just don't know how. Sharing this post is a simple, easy and free way to help Tatiana.

3. Donate. Tatiana's adoption cost are going to be VERY high. As sad as it is, it is a ransom. A ransom that has to be paid if Tatiana is ever going to find a home. This sweet woman is working hard to adopt Tatiana and is really stepping out in faith. You do not have to give a ton of money to help. $1, $5, $10 helps more than you know.

Small things can be done to help this sweet little girl. To change her life forever, I'm hoping you guys will join me and do what you can to make sure she gets that chance. I so badly want to write a happy ending on her blog, I so badly want this little girl who I have fallen in love with to be happy, secure and in a home.

Doing Something Different

Recently Project Hopeful posted an updated picture of Tatiana. She is such a beautiful little girl! While the picture melted my heart it also broke it in the same moment. She is growing and getting older. She is still in an institution and still without a family. It's easy to read that statement and not think much about it. But the facts and the statistics are sobering and give a glimpse into what her future holds. Orphans age out at the age of 16 where Tatiana lives. They are sent out the door with their clothes on their back. No home, money, job, skills, or support system.

Studies have shown that 10% – 15% of these children commit
suicide before they reach age eighteen .
These studies also show that 60% of the girls become prostitutes and 70% of the boys become
hardened criminals.
A different study reported that of the 15,000 orphans that age out of state-run
institutions every year, 10% committed suicide, 5,000 were unemployed, 6,000 were
homeless. 3,000 were in prison within three years of aging out.

While she's only 8 her chances of being adopted are growing more bleak by the day. She IS slipping through the cracks. While it may seem like you have no control over this, that's not the case. I know all to well how easy it is to push this from your mind and not ever think about it again. How easy it would be to stop reading, close the page down and walk away. But today I'm asking you to do something different.  You can help her. You can save her. When I say every dollar counts, I MEAN IT. Every single dollar adds up. If you can give a dollar, than please do. If you can give five dollars that is awesome! Ten is AMAZING and if you can give more than I urge you to do so. There is a donate button at the top right of this page that you can use. Funds will go into her account to help fund her adoption.

This is Tatiana's chance. This is her way out. WE are her way out.
